Thanks-Giving Square is “Going Orange” in Support of Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month. Over 50 million people in America face hunger. That is 1 in 6 of the U.S. population – including more than 1 in 5 children. Don’t let their struggles go unheard. Join the Feeding America network of more than 200 food banks and Speak Out Against Hunger. In honor of North Texas Food Bank’s 30th anniversary and Hunger Action Month, Thanks-Giving Square is “Going Orange” to support the cause.
The Square’s efforts to support the cause include lighting the spiral chapel orange every evening for the month of September, placing orange ribbons on the trees throughout the park, and incorporating National Hunger Month into its weekly food truck schedule.
Every Wednesday and Thursday in September from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., food trucks (The Butcher’s Son, Gandolfos, Cup Cakin, Nammi and Ruthies Rolling Cafe) at Thanks-Giving Square will give a 10% discount to all customers who make a canned-good donation at the time of purchase.
