The stage was set, the designers were last minute stitching and the crowd was parched. That was until the Vitamin water started flowing. Fashionistas from all over Dallas flocked to the Vitaminwater Presents: Uncapped Inspired Fashion Show live from the historic Granada Theatre. After arriving to the scene of historic concerts and parties, I was instantly fascinated to see how the venue had been transformed into a chic runway with a spectacular live band in tow.
With different flavors of the popular thirst quencher as their muses, the designers had been working for weeks to make sure their collections flowed and impressed. However, they were there to impress not just the judges but the audience as well. As far as the panel of local fashion experts went, they included: Derek Alexander, Karl Marshall, John Clutts, Steve Kemble, Alison Volk, Lisa Petty and Shirin Askari.
Ms. Volk had a some things to say about the event, “Being a part of the fashion scene in Dallas, it’s exciting to see new faces showcasing their talents. I’m ready to judge and see what the competition is like. I know they’ve been working so hard for this.” When asked how she felt about the reality TV buzz around Dallas at the moment, she laughed and said, “I feel like that isn’t even close to what Dallas people are like. I could never see myself doing something like that. Now give me a Project Runway Dallas edition and I’d be all over that!”

Watching as each talented designer presented their respective assortments, I quickly came to see how real thought went into the various colors, materials and shapes. There were bright pinks and oranges to highlight the fruity flavors and ethereal whites and earth tones to project the antioxidant and pure feel of the Vitamin Water Zero flavors. It was fun to see actual bottles attached to the clothes as well. All pieces were truly inspired by the brand. Congratulations to Emmanuel Tobias who wont the 2500 prize!
Of course there were A-listers everywhere, mostly of the reality show realm. Everyone from Football Wives, to the Most Eligible Dallascrew was there to see the fashions. Running into Most Eligible cast member Drew Ginsburg, he said he was enjoying the evening and “can’t wait for the next episode to air! It’s gonna be a good one that no one should miss!” A little self-promotion never hurt. Am I right?
