Untapped Festival organizers are please to announce the inaugural CANNED Festival in Denton, TX on October 5th. As the first offshoot of the Untapped Festival brand, “Canned” focuses on an often misunderstood, yet incredibly effective and environmentally friendly method of packaging beer, the aluminum can.
Cans are more than just the latest fad in craft beer, they are the wave of the craft beer future. There are many reasons that craft brewers all over the country are making the switch to canning. Cans prevent all light from reaching the beer, preserving taste. Cans also have a knack for keeping their seal. These two features help to keep the precious beer inside at its highest quality – just like it was freshly tapped at the brewery!
Cans get cold faster, stay cold longer, weigh less and can be easily transported. And most important, aluminum cans are infinitely and totally recyclable. The impact of “the can” on the environment is remarkably less than most packaging. Very simply, cans are craft beer eco-bliss. Educating the consumer on the canning and recycling process, providing information and activities while maintaining our resolute focus on high quality live music and craft beer is the mission of this first year fest.
