I have a severe case of wanderlust.
I can’t count the number of times each week that I find myself looking up vacations, checking hotels, googling exotic locations. I’m thankful to have a job that allows me to work from anywhere and I’m even more thankful that my husband is the same. We are able to pickup and leave anytime we please, it’s been such a blessing.
One trick that has allowed us to travel more is taking the megaBus.com, it’s the first, affordable, express bus service to offer city center-to-city center travel for as low as $1. Think of all the places you could go if your rides were that inexpensive!
There are two megabus.com stops available in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The megabus.com stop for arrivals and departures in downtown Dallas is located at the DART East Transfer Center. The 2nd location that megabus.com stops for arrivals and departures in Grand Prairie is located at 710 Davis St. Megabus.com currently offers 6 destinations from the Dallas Fort Worth area; Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Houston, Little Rock, Memphis, San Antonio, and St. Louis.
With Distracted Driving Month around the corner, I wanted to give you a few more reasons you should consider taking a megabus.com for your next trip.
Megabus.com has invested $1.5M in a central support system which monitors all the buses activities in real time supported by a staff 24-7. With a SmartTire alert system, speeding alerts, real time and GPS tracking. The GPS tracking system allows megabus.com to identify any low bridges and automatically lowers the suspension when going through planned routes with low clearance, like the Lincoln Tunnel.
I always thought it was crazy that seatbelts weren’t a federal regulation in buses and it made me feel uneasy riding in them. Thankfully, megabus.com put seatbelts in all their buses in 2007 (even though it’s still not a regulation!)
If you’re taking a trip between the hours of 12 and 5am, megabus.com has instituted a policy requiring two drivers onboard and drivers are required to take nine hours off in between shifts instead of the required eight hours.
megabus.com utilizes GreenRoad Eco-Driving Technology: GreenRoad gives drivers the information, tools and motivation they need to drive safer. The system detects risky maneuvers and warns drivers so they can self-correct in real-time. GreenRoad analyzes more than 150 maneuvers, across 5 categories – acceleration, braking, lane changing, cornering, and speeding. At the management level, powerful analytic tools let megabus.com identify potentially hazardous areas and problematic trends before they lead to serious incidents.
Why drive when you can ride and let megabus.com do all of the work? I’ve taken the bus a few times around Texas and love that I was able to sit back and relax without having to worry about staying focused on the road. Megabus.com maintains the highest (Satisfactory) safety compliance rating with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration so safety is no issue!
Have you ever taken a megabus.com? What was your experience?

I’ll be taking my first Megabus ride. Nervous! The not having hand soap/sink concerns me the most. How abundant were the seatings? Does every seat typically get filled?
