Addison is making a big move, they announced that they Taste of Addison was no longer going to be around but instead, Addison is hosting a new and improved event called Fork & Cork. I’m not going to lie, I did a little happy dance when I heard about the change.
I want to be honest with yall, Taste of Addison wasn’t my cup of tea. The last time I went it was HOT outside, we walked around sweating with a million little kids running around all while vendors were trying to sell us mediocre food for outrageous prices. I ended up making the drive to Taste of Addison and didn’t spend a dime because I was disappointed. When I hear “taste of (fill in the blank),” I think of lots of vendors giving your a sample of their product at a reduced price so you can taste what they have to offer. I feel like instead of doing that, vendors were charging regular prices (maybe even more) for a larger portion of food. That beats the whole purpose of going to the event. If I wanted to try a full size of anything, I would rather go into the restaurant and have the whole experience rather than eating a portion of food in the nasty hot Texas Summer.
Needless to say, I was ready for Addison to have an event that was geared more towards adults rather than “family fun in the sun”. Fork & Cork is a casual event yet sophisticated at the same time. You don’t have to put on your Sunday’s best to enjoy this epicurious adventure. Foodies rejoice because Addison has hit a home run with this event. Featured talent for the first annual Fork & Cork includes internationally acclaimed, James Beard Award-winning chef and judge on ABC’s The Taste Marcus Samuelsson and music from Texas legend Pat Green.
