This is a sponsored blog post and I was compensated by Build-A-Bear Workshop. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Having a baby has opened my eyes in more ways than I could ever imagine. I have nine nieces and nephews so I’ve been around little ones for the past 14 years. I’ve seen them hit their milestones, attended all their birthday, taken them on adventures and tried my best to be as present as possible. All of these moments I’ve been collecting with my nieces and nephews have helped me be the mom I am today. I’ve learned that all those tiny “things” that we don’t think about often become memories that we could have never planned for.
I can’t tell you how many times my husband and I have conversations about our childhood and random memories that come up out of no where. Some memories are about playing sports at a young age or funny stories about our siblings. When we talk about these, all I can think about is what memories we’re making for our son. I want him to remember all the fun and silly times we have together, all of the times we played games or with his stuffed animals. Even though I know no matter how hard I try to get him to remember these moments, it’s not guaranteed that he will. All we can do is make as memories together as possible.
I’ve have the privilege of working from home so I’ve very fortunate that me and Bryce get to have all sorts of adventures together and I can’t wait for us to celebrate National Teddy Bear Day which takes place on September 9th. All kids love stuffed animals and what child doesn’t have a favorite stuffy? If you want to celebrate but don’t know how, I’ve come up with 5 Fun Ideas to Celebrate National Teddy Bear Day.
Throw a Tea Party with your Teddy Bear
Depending on the age of your child, you can make this as extravagant or simple as you want. If you have a moms group or live in a neighborhood with a bunch of kids, this would be so fun to throw together. I love this Teddy Bear Tea party by Sunshine Whispers.
Make Teddy Bear Snacks
I love being in the kitchen and making themed food. After doing a bit of research, I found the cutest teddy bear snacks to make. These are great for all ages and the kids will have so much fun making these!
- Teddy Bear faces made with graham crackers
- Teddy Bear Rice Krispies
- Teddy Bear Bread
- Polar Bear Cookies
- Polar Bear Ice Cream
- Teddy Bear Fruit Mosaic
Make Teddy Bear Crafts
If you have an older child, bust out your craft supplies and make some fun teddy bear crafts while your kids favorite teddy bear supervises. Your kids will love making crafts that look just like their stuffed animal.
- Teddy Bear Paper Plate Craft
- Brown Bear Mask
- Bear Craft Using a Fork
- Brown Bear Puppets
- Polar Bear Masks
- Bear Christmas Ornament
Experience what Build-A-Bear Workshop is all about by taking your little one to the store and letting them make their own bear. There is nothing quite like it. According to a recent survey commissioned by Build-A-Bear, 30% of respondents said a feeling of comfort was the first memory that came to mind when thinking about a childhood stuffed animal, followed by the memory of the person who gave it to them (22%), and the stuffed animal’s appearance (19%). We recently took Bryce to make his first stuffed animal at Build-A-Bear Workshop and had a blast making memories.
On Friday, September 8, and Saturday, September 9, guests of Build-A- Bear Workshop stores can make their own limited-edition Bear for just $5.50, plus applicable taxes, while supplies last. Build-A- Bear Workshop will also offer Traditional Cocoa Bear online for $10.50 at buildabear.com.
