Baking is by far one of my favorite things to do. Although I’m not a huge fan of sweets, I love to make them. Don’t get me wrong, I will eat sweets and enjoy every minute of it but I don’t crave them and it’s easy for me to say no to. My husband is the opposite of me, I call him the cookie monster. I’ve never seen anyone love sweets quite like he does. It works out perfectly since I love to make them and he loves to eat them.
My go to recipe when we want a quick sweet fix is homemade chocolate chip cookies. There is something about chocolate chip cookies that warms the soul. It’s also a delicious recipe when made from scratch. We always have the ingredients needed for the recipe so we make them often. Who can say no to homemade cookies?

I usually pull my cookies out about a minute early because we like ours more soft than hard. When I pull them out, they almost look like they are still raw but once they sit for a few minutes they harden and become the most delicious soft cookies ever. I’ll sometimes throw in my pecans depending on my mood but either way, they’re so good.
