Do you have a dessert that you absolutely love to make and eat? One of my favorites is Funfetti Cake Balls. For the longest time, I had no idea how to make cake balls. I figured they were quite complicated to make. Even though I bake all the time, it’s one of those recipes that I never attempted. When I learned how easy it was to make them, my mind was blown. It’s so easy to make funfetti cake balls or any cake balls for that matter.
If you’re just now learning about cake balls, they are small spheres of crumbled cake that are coated with chocolate or frosting. In short, you take the cake crumbles and shape them to form a ball then dip each cake ball into a coating. They were originally created to prevent waste from leftover cake and crumbs. If you ask me, it’s the perfect dessert.
Cake balls do not have the consistency of regular cake because frosting is mixed into the crumbs making it a very doughy consistency.
Let’s make some funfetti cake balls together. I’ve made this recipe even more simple but using funfetti pre-made cake mix. If you prefer homemade cake mix, you can make your own and still use this recipe. I usually like all my dessert recipes home made but I’ve found that cake pops taste just as good with the pre-made mix and it cuts down greatly on the preparation.
