One reason the holidays is my favorite time of year is because it seems that light is shed on so many great things happening in our world. The news starts to recognize amazing citizens that go out of their way to help an elderly lady or someone posts on social media about how wonderful it is that the car in front of them paid for their meal. I love how it brings out the good in people and there is so much positivity going on.
One of my favorite brands, Philips, recently published an amazing video about how they’re helping those who struggle with respiratory conditions. Not only are they helping them live their lives to the fullest, Philips is helping these admirable folks do things that once might not have been possible. Imagine trying to sing when breathing is a battle? Philips made this possible.
Gareth Malone, Celebrity choirmaster, led a group of eighteen individuals who made up the Breathless Choir. These individuals all have different breathing issues, some were born with it while others didn’t have problems til later in life. Each individual who makes up the choir struggles with cystic fibrosis, reduced lung capacity, asthma or COPD. He spent 5 days with the group and formed the Breathless Choir. To watch each of them blossom – even after only 5 days – is amazing.
Watch the Breathless Choir transform from having difficulties doing every day tasks to performing their hearts out at the Apollo theater in NY. Grab a tissue, you’re going to need it.
Philips proves that there’s always a way to make life better.
