For the past 8 years, top chefs and NFL players join forces to raise money in support of the North Texas Food Bank. One goal is in mind, end hunger. Through this event The Taste of the NFL is able to address the needs of the hungry and homeless by raising awareness and money.
This was my second year to attend such an amazing event. This year the event was held at the Omni Convention Center Ballroom, which made the flow seem much better than the year before at The Gaylord. All restaurants were set up in around the walls of the room, while tables, auction booths and a dance floor occupied the middle. I arrived a few minutes early and was able to try EVERY single food item there before the rush of people came in. There wasn’t one restaurant that I didn’t like. Chef Terry from Private Social did an amazing job with her Jambalaya and Whiskey Cake never fails.
Speaking of (delicious) food, the mission of the night is to bring awareness to hunger and to raise money to help feed those who are in need. A total of $195,523 was raised at this event, which means over 586,569 meals were provided to hungry children in North Texas. Let’s try to raise even more next year!
Disclosure: I was given tickets to attend this event, all opinions stated are my own.
