If you’re like me, Valentine’s Day isn’t a BIG deal at our house. I enjoy celebrating the day but we scale it down a bit. I feel like staying at home is sometimes the better choice rather than fighting the crowds and paying lots of money for a meal that is less than mediocre. If anything, we like to celebrate at home with a few cocktails to get the night started.
Even before having kids, we would stay home and cook a delicious meal at home. As much fun as it is to get dressed up and go out for the night, you end up paying 4 times the amount on food for a set menu. If we do decide to go out for a Valentine’s date it is a week before so we can eat off a regular menu without paying the crazy prices.
Staying at home means we get to make our own cocktails and experiment with different drinks in the kitchen. These cocktails are perfect for Valentine’s Day or anytime you want to something a little more on the romantic side.
