I recently had a talk with my one of my in laws this past week and we discussed and reminisced about old computers and pagers and how far technology has come in the past 10 years alone. Things are massive changing in the tech space and it’s amazing to be able to see and experience it all.
It’s hilarious to think back and remember how excited we were over some of the tech items that were really not that amazing but we knew no different. I came across a poem online called the “Remember When, A Poem about Technology” that was the best thing I’ve read in a while. Here’s a snippet of the poem”
A computer was something on TV
From a sci fi show of note.
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram was the cousin of goat.Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights.
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bytes. An application was for employment.
A program was a TV show.
A curser used profanity.
A keyboard was a piano.Memory was something that you lost with age.
A CD was a bank account.
And if you had a 3 1/2″ floppy
You hoped nobody found out.
You can find the rest of the poem here. It’s a fun read!
All of this made me laugh even harder when I recently received a Sandisk External Storage that is 1 Tb! I’m not only excited that it provides plenty of space for photos and files but this Sandisk fits into the palm of my hand! It’s tiny which means I can easily throw it in my purse, stick it in my diaper bag or work folder with no issues.
