Shopping is by far one of my favorite things to do. I can shop all day, every day. I don’t have to spend tons of money, I just love being in stores and checking out everything they have to offer. Anytime I get stressed or need a change of scenery, I go shopping. It’s a stress reliever to me and let’s be real – who doesn’t love buying new things?
I have a couple stores that are my absolute favorite to shop at, they are stores that I know I can always find something that I need. Nothing is worst than going to a store and realizing they don’t have what you’re looking for. My needs have changed slightly after having Bryce. I’m now shopping for a lot of baby items versus cute clothes for myself which is why I’m always at Target. I’m going to admit it, I have an obsession with Target. Maybe it’s because I can find literally everything I can ever need there or because I like what their brand stands for. I think it’s a combination of everything Target stands for and offers. Here’s a few reasons why Target remains one of my favorite retailers:
Even though I’ve been shopping at Target for many, many years. I didn’t realize until a few years ago how much they give back to the community. They’ve provided $7.8 million in cash and product donations in 2016 and participate in 26,300 volunteer hours with local organizations. They work closely with North Texas Food Bank to give back to the Dallas community.
No matter what I need, I know I can find it from Target. If I need baby diapers, a dog bone and new razors for my husband, I know that I can stop at Target and find all of those items. It’s a one stop shop. Not only can I find all of those items, the prices are great and the quality is even better. It’s never a “hit or miss store,” I know that they’ll always have what I’m looking for.
On top their already great prices, their cartwheel deals sweeten the deal. If you haven’t downloaded the cartwheel app, stop what you’re doing and download it now. Either before you go shopping or while you’re at the store, check the app and you can find hundreds of deals for products ranging from 5-50% off. Once you’re done shopping just scan the bar code at check out and you will receive your discounts. It’s so simple and who doesn’t love to save money?
An added perk to shopping at Target, is being able to indulge in a Starbucks beverage while doing it! I frequent Starbucks daily so having a Starbucks located inside a Target is the best combination ever. I’m able to get my coffee fix and shopping at the same time and place. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Did you know that Target collaborates with bloggers? Some of their amazing lines such as Who What Wear and Art Class are in partnership with bloggers. Why is this so amazing? My living is based on great partnerships with companies so when I see brands like Target working with bloggers, it makes my heart happy. Not to mention, have you see the style that Who What Wear is making for Target? They are absolutely amazing and added another side of fashion to Target that wasn’t there before. Cheers to bloggers creating amazing partnerships and to brands like Target for recognizing the value in online influencers.
Target is in the process of doing a massive overhaul on a large number of the Dallas/Fort Worth locations. They’re investing more than $220 million to remodel 28 stores locally. I visited the store in North Dallas this weekend for their grand re-opening and let me tell you – the remodeled store looks amazing.
Target is bringing in more local products like beer and produce. They’re working hard to form partnerships to help support the community even more. My husband always picks up a pack of Tubbs beer while we’re at Target! I can’t wait to see what other breweries they will end of partnering with.
One of the first things I noticed when walking in to the new store is how bright the store looked. They’ve replaced all their lights with LED lighting which not only enhances the store but is much more 35% more energy efficient then the old lighting they were using. Target’s visual merchandising team has done an amazing job at showcasing products together to help you complete your look or meal. For instance, you will notice mannequins throughout the store that will help give you an idea on how to wear a certain piece of clothing. Behind the mannequins, you will find not only the one piece of clothing but the shoes, accessories and whole outfit paired together. I know when I’m shopping my mind goes all over the place so having everything in one central location is extremely helpful.
I love the new updates that Target is rolling out through the Dallas metroplex. Curious if your location is getting remodeled? Here is the timeline I’ve received for other locations in DFW to be completed.
- May 2017: Addison, Grapevine, Lake Worth, Weatherford
- June 2017: Fort Worth Central, North Dallas Coit Road, Mansfield, Mckinny, Plano West, Watauga, Frisco North
- July 2017: Rockwall, Burleson, Waxahachie, Euless
- August 2017: Love Field, Frisco, Dallas North East

In addition to the updated look they will function differently enabling a digitally connected experience with an updated Order Pickup counter and Ship from Store service, which allows Target.com orders to be fulfilled from local stores to get to guests faster.
If you haven’t stopped by one of the remodeled Target stores, go to one asap and let me know what you think! I know you’ll love the new layout. If you have any questions about the Target remodels or how they’re working in our community, let me know!
