No matter how many people are currently living in our house, one thing is for sure – laundry piles up as high as mountains. Even before we had Baby Bryce and it was just my husband and I living here, our laundry would be never ending. It’s one of those house projects that is never complete. Because this is a house project that I know is never going away, I’ve learned the best tactics to tackle this chore and make it work for me and my family.
Find a System
One of the ways I learned to conquer laundry was to make a system that worked for myself and my family. Every Sunday afternoon is our laundry day. I take all the laundry from around the house and work on laundry throughout the day and in between my Sunday daily errands and chores. I like to complete laundry on Sunday’s so we can start each new week with a house full of clean clothes. Throughout the week, if needed, I’ll do a load or two but it’s a rare occasion.
Be Thankful
Doing laundry has allowed me really be thankful for all of the things that we have as a family. Not everybody can complain that they have too many clothes to clean every week. It’s a first world problem and when you start to realize all of the items that you are washing whether it be bed sheets, socks, underwear or workout clothes – those items are what we need to be thankful for every single day. I speak for myself but it’s easy to lose sight of how lucky we are.
Learn about your Washer and Dryer
I never realized how much time I was wasting by not learning about my washer and dryer. Almost all appliances made in the past few years offer features that not only save us time but also money (hello, EnergyStar!). It’s crazy how many processes and functions the washer and dryers have now. I have a washer and dryer that actually has TWO washers and TWO dryers in one and it’s by far the best thing ever.
Having this feature allows me to put together smaller loads in the LG SideKick pedastal washer that can’t wait such as workout clothes or dirty work shirts that are needed asap. What’s even better is being able to wash another load in the Front Load washer during the same time. Two loads done at once, you can’t ask for much more! Not only do these washers have mega capacity to tackle any size load, they are energy efficient while giving you the best cleaning performance. No wonder more households have chosen LG laundry over any other brand!
If you’re in the market for a new washer and dryer, head to Best Buy and check out the LG Twin Wash System. From 1/11-4/25 receive up to $500 off a LG laundry solution for your home.
