Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookie Bars
Makes 1 9×13 baking dish
Cookie ingredients:
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 2 C sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 4 3/4 C flour
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 containers of Wilton springtime pearlized jimmies
- 1 bag of Wilton pink heart sprinkles
Frosting ingredients
- 2 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 3 1/2 C powdered sugar
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3-5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- pink gel food coloring
- small angled spatula
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper
- Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda
- Gradually mix in to the wet ingredients
- Fold in one container of sprinkles into the dough
- Scoop dough into the prepared baking dish and lightly flatten with your hands
- Place into the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely
Frosting directions :
- Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
- Beat on medium speed until smooth and stiff peaks form
- Beat in a few drops of pink food coloring until combined
- Using a angled spatula, frost the top of the cookie bars
- Sprinkle with the remaining sprinkles
