The weather is warming up, the sun is coming out and it’s about time to start spending our days outside and preferably on a patio. After being pregnant and not being able to drink for the past 9 months, I can’t wait to start enjoying a stiff drink every now and again. Although I like stiff drinks, I’m a sucker for fruity “girly” drinks. You know, the ones where you can’t taste any alcohol but after two drinks you can barely stand up.
With Summertime around the corner, I thought I would share one of my favorite recipes that is perfect for the Texas heat – The Watermelon Slush.
The best part about this slush is that there are only a few ingredients and you probably already have them all! It’s a great drink to whip up on a whim when guests come over or one afternoon when you need a refreshing pick me up.
Watermelon Slush
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup Ginger Ale
- 4 cups of ice
- 3 tbsp of sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 cup of frozen chopped watermelon – seedless
Instructions
- Cut your Watermelon into small chunks and place in the freezer for two hours
- Blend ice, white wine, and Ginger Ale on high, until blended into a slush
- Add the sugar, frozen watermelon chunks, and lime juice and blend to mix in
- Enjoy!
It’s so easy to make. If you aren’t a big fan of wine in your slushes, you can use liquor instead. I switch out my alcohol contents depending on my mood! If you’re feeling adventurous, add different fruit to your slush to change the flavor of your drink. This drink is hard to mess up and loved by everybody!
