The mission of KIPP DFW is to provide under-served children in our community with a free, rigorous, high quality education that offers the knowledge, skills and character traits necessary to thrive in school, college and the competitive world beyond. Founded in 2003, KIPP TRUTH Academy became the first school in the KIPP DFW region. KIPP TRUTH Academy now serves 350 students in fifth through eighth grades. A second KIPP DFW school, KIPP Destiny Elementary, will open with 120 kindergarten students next fall. At full capacity, KIPP Destiny Elementary will serve 560 students in kindergarten through fourth grades.
KIPP DFW is part of the national “Knowledge is Power Program”, a network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. There are currently 125 KIPP schools across 20 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 39,000 students. With a college matriculation rate twice the average of low-income communities, there are currently over 1,800 alumni in college. Founded in 2003, KIPP DFW TRUTH Academy became the first school in the KIPP DFW region.
If you are interested in learning more about the program and possibly would like to enroll your child, attend a parent info session. You can attend on Thursday, December 13 at 5:30pm for prospective kindergarten families and 6:30pm for prospective middle school families.
