State Fair of Texas: Parking and DART information

Blog· Entertainment· Events

Parking at the State Fair of Texas can be a hassle. Not only do you have to pay $15 to park on official State Fair lots you still have to ride a trolley (or for un-lazy people, walk a long ways) to get to the fair entrance. Save your cash for other things at the fair. $15 is a lot of money to pay to park on a grass field, it’s almost as much as you’re paying to enter fair grounds.

The Easy Way to get to the State Fair of Texas Map 2013

State Fair visitors can ride the DART Rail Green Line to two stations – Fair Park Station, located on Parry Avenue at the entrance to the fairgrounds, and MLK, Jr. Station, located south of R.B. Cullum Blvd. and convenient to the MLK fairground entrance (Gate 6) and the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Passengers riding DART Rail and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) to downtown Dallas can transfer easily to the Green Line:

  • Southbound Red, Blue and Orange Line passengers transfer to the Green Line at Pearl/Arts District Station.
  • Northbound Red and Blue Line passengers transfer to the Green Line at Akard Station.
  • Eastbound Orange Line passengers transfer to the Green Line at Bachman Station.
  • Extra Green Line trains will be available every 20 minutes between Victory and Lawnview stations from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends.

If you decide to drive, there is plenty of parking. If you are parking on fair grounds they take cash and credit. If you have to park in front of a residential lot, they will only take cash.
