Japan Week Promotes Japanese Culture, Cuisine and Tourism

Blog· Travel

At the beginning of this month, Japan Week was in full effect in New York. At this event, Japanese culture, cuisine, and tourism is promoted heavily and the program puts a spotlight on unique features of Japanese culture from the last 100 years to the present. Since my father is from  Japan and I am part Japanese, I’m always so interested in these types of events that I get to learn more about my heritage and where I came from.

Japan Week in NY

One exhibitor stuck out more than others. Takumi displayed several items such as hand-crafted glass, metal and wood, beautiful fabrics, and other works of artistry to introduce Japanese traditions, techniques, designs, flavors, local qualities and other characteristics unique to Japan.

Aren’t these awesome? I wish I could have taken all of the products home with me. I did a little research about Takumi and found more products on their site that I fell in love with.

Aren’t these Teapots to die for? I want one in every single color.

Wood USB - Takumi

These wooden USBs would make a perfect addition to my collection. Not only do they have wooden USBs but also wooden keyboards, card readers and iPhone 5 cases.

I could add hundreds of products that I love but those were a few that really stuck out to me. If you want to see more products, stop by Takumi’s site or Facebook page. I look forward to Japan Week next year in NY, I highly recommend looking into going in 2015 to learn more about the Japanese culture.
