Dog Friendly Things To Do in Dallas

Blog· Entertainment

There are an abundance of dog friendly things to do in Dallas. Our dog friendly city makes it possible for us to take our furry family members along with us when we go just about anywhere in the city. We can even let them join us for a meal at several different restaurants. There are so many establishments that open their doors to man’s best friend. These ideas are only the beginning of what Dallas has to offer.

Dog Friendly Things Dallas Edited

Are you looking to get out for the day and enjoy the great outdoors. You will not have to travel far to visit Klyde Warren Park. Located in Dallas, over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway, this park has a lot of activities to offer. It also has an awesome dog park within its sprawling 5 acre lot. Get some fresh air while letting your dog burn energy running and playing with other dogs and their owners. There are water fountains for the dogs to play in when they are ready to cool down.

Katy Trail is a popular urban trail is a perfect place to take your dog for a leisurely stroll or jog. The trail is lined with lush greenery and provides a safe and scenic route for you and your pup to enjoy some exercise and fresh air. Be sure to keep your dog leashed on this trail. Katy Trail has two trailheads: one on Airline Road at the northern end of the trail and one at Victory Promenade on the southern end of the trail. The closest parking lot to the northern end of the trail is located on Knox Street.

Dallas Farmers Market is a pet-friendly market allows dogs on leashes, so you can bring your pup along while you shop for fresh produce, handmade goods, and more. There are also dog-friendly restaurants and cafes where you can grab a bite to eat with your furry companion. Dogs are welcome in The Shed and on The Market patios.

If you are in need of dog supplies, there are several stores and bakeries that only carry the best products available for your dog. The Lucky Dog Barkery has a bakery that makes gourmet dog treats such as grammy’s pot pie. They also have a variety of toys, clothes, and supplies for your dog. Another one of my favorites is Woof Gang Bakery. On top of offering quality, home made dog treats along with a variety of other dog products, their service is always outstanding.

To my surprise I have found that there are many restaurants that are dog friendly. Most of them do restrict dogs to their patio, but it is a great alternative to leaving your dog behind if you want to grab a bite to eat. The Dream Cafe not only serves up delicious meals, they offer great service for your pup too. Other dog friendly restaurants include the elegant Marie Gabrielle and Quarter Bar.

In the mood to take your dog out and around Dallas? Catch a ride on the McKinney Ave Trolley or let your dog tag along with you to your next trip to the Dallas Farmer’s Market. If you are looking for a unique outing, visiting Dallas Heritage Village is an option. Learn all about history while your dog soaks up another adventure with his family.

Including your dog while you go about your days is easier than you think. Please share with us, what is your favorite dog friendly thing to do in Dallas?
