How to Make a Delicious Cheese Board for Two

Blog· Food and Drinks

Do you ever watch a movie or show and get completely inspired to make a meal or a dish? As odd as it sounds, it happens more often than not. I love cooking so learning new dishes and trying new cooking techniques is always enjoyable.

I always thought I knew a lot about cooking but I have come to realize that I still have so much to learn. I recently watched Burnt starring Bradley Cooper and had an itch to try something new.  I have a serious issue with cooking way too much food and since it’s only me and my husband, I need to learn to stop. Not only does it cost so much money, it is also a waste of delicious food. I’m sure my neighbors get tired of me knocking on their door giving them all the food I cook.

“Cooking is an expression of who we are.” – Burnt

I have a serious obsession with cheese. I love a good cheese board but I find it so hard to make for only 2 people. My cheese boards can seriously feed 15 people and as much as I love it, I don’t need that much cheese. But trust me, I want all of it.

I miraculously made a cheese board for two that didn’t break the bank. Sometimes the best appetizers are the most simple. How to Make a Cheese Board for Two

Here’s what I bought:

Grapes – These are usually paid for by the pound, so only get what you need. It’s rare that you’ll need 2 pounds of grapes, so separate them and take only what you need.)

Olives – I’m not an ‘olive person.’ It’s actually one of the only things that I can think of that I really don’t like. Even though I’m not a fan doesn’t mean I won’t have it on my cheese board. I know my guests would want them, so I bought a small amount. Check  your local grocer, many times they’ll have olive bars where you can buy only what you need.

Castello Cheese – The older I get, the more I realize the quality of food and how much it matters. I’m absolutely crazy for Castello Cheese. They offer a large variety of cheese and they are my ‘go-to’ company for all things cheese. You can’t go wrong with them!

Apricot Jelly – Any type of sweet fruit would work in place of the jelly if you don’t like apricot. During peak season, blackberries and raspberries are my favorite.

What other tips do you have to making a great cheese board without breaking the bank?

Confession time: I love cheese.

I think that apricot jelly is pure genius on a cheese board! I know it would go so well with the Castello Blue cheese!
