Celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas with Tamales from Urban Taco

Blog· Food and Drinks

This time of year is my absolute favorite. It’s a time that our families and friends get together, we share happiness and love with strangers and the Christmas spirit shines through everybody. Admittedly, I love this season more than others and not just because of the holidays. This time of year brings one of my favorite things in the world – tamales!

Like every good Texan, we have a ‘go-t0’ person or spot for tamales each year. No joke, I had my tamale lady on speed dial many years ago. Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep up with constant texting and wanting tamales on demand which made me search for another source.

That’s where Urban Taco comes in. They offer delicious tamales and I can get them anytime I want. They started their 12 days of tamales on December 13th and you don’t want to miss out on them!

Urban Taco 12 Days of Tamales Menu:

December 13 – Pollo con Mole Poblano

December 14 – Cochinita Pibil

December 15 – Simmery Guajillo Pork

December 16 – Potato Zucchini con Queso Fresco

December 17 – Frijoles y Queso Oaxaca

December 18 – Tomatillo Serrano con Pollo

December 19 – Carnitas con Mole Poblano

December 20 – Dos Equis Amber Barbacoa con Chorizo

December 21 – Guajillo Piquin con Pollo

December 22 –Sweet Corn

December 23 – Green Chile con Picadillo

December 24 – Chicken Tinga & Potato

If you’re feeling extra festive, grab one of their holiday cocktails for only $5! The two that are offered right now at that price is the Merry Berry Margarita (a holiday’rita with bold red color and tart-sweet cranberry taste) and Ponches de Frutas (a traditional homemade fruit and spice punch consisting of green apples, oranges, sugar cane, guayaba, cinnamon, tamarind, tejocote and hibiscus leaf).

Grab these tamales and cocktails at one of their two locations – Mockingbird Station or Mckinney Avenue.
