When’s the last time you took a picture? If you’re like me, it’s every single day. I’m always snapping pictures of my family and random things I see throughout the day. How often do you get those pictures developed? It’s a rare occasion! I’ve made it my mission to get professional pictures taken of my family often because I want those memories for me and my kids. I usually hire a photographer and receive digital prints but the problem is that I still have to make the effort to get prints done.
I needed to find a solution so I found a studio that I could get my pictures taken and leave with prints in hand. We made an appointment at Portrait Innovations and had a great experience. It was our luck that on the day of our appointment, our little Bryce got sick. This was the first day of about a week and half of him teething and having sinus issues. We arrived at Portrait Innovations and had to wake him up. If you have kids, you know you should never wake a sleeping baby. He was not happy and wanted nothing to do with the pictures. Thankfully, our photographer was so patient with him. There were multiple people jumping up and down, making funny faces and doing all they could to bring a smile to his face. It was refreshing to have them be so helpful, they turned a stressful situation into an enjoyable one.
The studio had two rooms for pictures with multiple back drops. Since it’s the holidays, we did a lot of Winter and Holiday themed pictures. I hate that Bryce wasn’t his cheery self but cherish all of the pictures we got. I love that the photographer changed up the poses and got lots of great photos of each of us with Bryce.
It only took the photographer seconds to change each background and set up for the next pose. One of my favorites is this sweet picture of Bryce looking up at Santa.
Once we were finished with our photo session which only took about 30 minutes, we set down with our photographer and got to look at all of the photos that we took. We narrowed down all of the pictures we took to about 20 shots. The photographer was so patient with us and edited any photos that we liked (or didn’t like).
Once we all came to agreement on which pictures we liked, we waited about 15 minutes and were given all the pictures already printed and a CD of all the photos that we chose. It was the best of both worlds. I didn’t have to go to home and figure out how to print the pictures but I also had them on the CD so I had the option to do more with them in the future.
We had a great time and would do it over again. Portrait Innovations has given us the same package that we had to give away. Included in the package is a Six pose collections with 2 sheets of each pose, Two 10×13 special effect decorator portraits, 20 greeting cards, and 1 CD with your high res photos of your portrait images!

We have a lot of holiday traditions that I love. One of my favorites is that we play fun, silly family/party games that make us laugh a lot! (Even more than we laugh already even without games. haha) Sometimes they are games that I buy and sometimes they are ones I found online or made up myself to match the theme of which ever holiday it is we are celebrating. I love how the holidays bring out the “playful child” in all of us.

At Christmas dinner we all get a Christmas Cracker (popper). We all wear the dumb little paper hats. But it is a lot of fun
