Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Although this is my second Mother’s Day, it feels like my first. Last year, Bryce was only 2 months old and it was all a blur. Bryce was nursing every two hours, my nights and days ran together and my brain was complete mush being in survival mode. This year, Bryce is now one years old and it will be so much fun to celebrate the day with him. Like any other holiday, I’ve been asked more than once “what do you want for Mother’s Day?” While being surprised with a gift is always great, I love being able to think it through and really figure out what I want rather than getting a bunch of items that I won’t use.
This year, I really started thinking what I would want. I’m not a materialistic person but I love items that I can use over and over again and bonus points if they can improve my life in one way or another. As much as I love flowers, I hate that they die within a week of getting them. To me, flowers are a great “just because” gift. You know those gifts that someone gets you “just because” not for any rhyme or reason but just because they want to cheer your day.
The best Mother’s Day present comes from Best Buy, an Amazon Echo Plus. We are huge fans of a connected home and adding an Amazon Echo Plus makes perfect sense. As a mom, I need all the extra help that I can get whether it mean extra hands to help with the baby or help from a device to turn the music on so the Bryce stays happy for an extra few minutes while I finish up an email.
My favorite features of the Amazon Echo Plus:
Echo Plus has a built-in hub that seamlessly connects and controls compatible smart devices such as light bulbs, door locks, switches, and plugs. Setting up new smart home devices with Alexa is easy. Just say “Alexa, discover my devices”, and Echo Plus will discover and set up compatible smart home devices. Since we have so many devices, it helps that Alexa is able to find them all for me. It takes away the extra work that I have to do.
With Echo Plus, you can instantly talk to anyone hands-free – no tapping or searching is required. Your contacts will see your number when they receive the call so they know who is calling. Additionally, you can send messages via voice or text to anyone with a supported Echo device or the Alexa App. Let your household know when dinner is ready, ask someone for help with a chore, or remind the kids to go to sleep – without having to raise your voice. With the Drop In feature enabled for room-to-room calling, instantly connect with compatible Echo devices in your home.
Echo Plus has tens of thousands of skills and counting. Ask about your daily commute, control your Sony smart TV, play Jeopardy!, check your account balance with American Express and more. To enable a new skill, just ask Alexa. New skills are being added all the time.
Alexa is always getting smarter – the more you use Echo, the more Alexa adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences. And because Echo is always connected, updates are delivered automatically. I love that Alexa learns from me and I learn from her.
Make mom’s life more simple this year with the Amazon Echo Plus.
