Christmas is officially here and there are more events in the Dallas metroplex than we know what to do with. We’ve gathered every event we could find whether it be photos with Santa or fun holiday bazaar happening in the DFW area. You can find all the Dallas Christmas events listed below by date. The events at the top of the list start in November and work your way down to events through the end of the year.

Carriage Rides through Highland Park

Take a glimpse up close at all of the gorgeous Christmas Lights throughout Highland Park on a carriage ride. This is a fun tradition that you don’t want to miss. If you would rather stay indoors, taking a limo with a group of friends and family is a fun option!
Galleria’s Grand Christmas Tree

The tallest indoor Christmas Tree is a sight you do not want to miss. The Galleria grand tree is a FREE holiday display inside the Galleria mall. It is a 95-foot tall structure, made up of more than 10,000 ornaments and 1,500 branches. Skate around the Christmas Tree and take in the view. 12 Days of Christmas
November 13, 2019 – December 31, 2019 @ Dallas Arboretum
Holiday at the Arboretum features a 30-foot tall tree at the center of the gardens, as well as the magnificent The 12 Days of Christmas outdoor exhibit with 25-foot-tall Victorian-style gazebos depicting scenes from the traditional carol.
Each gazebo features movement to depict the different beloved characters such as the Three French Hens, Twelve Drummers Drumming and Seven Swans a Swimming, to name a few. The historic DeGolyer House is also lavishly decorated in a European-style with greenery and fruit, along with a collection in each room of items one finds at Christmas markets such as angels, hand-carved wooden Santas, nativity scenes or snow globes.
The 12 Days of Christmas outdoor exhibit, comes alive during the evening hours with over 1 million lights illuminating the garden, trimming the architecture of the historic homes and lighting the canopies overhead. The Dallas Arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road, Dallas TX.

Photos available on Wednesday Evenings from 6-9pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 12-4pm. Santa is back in the garden in the perfect holiday setting – Once The Christmas Village opens Santa will move to his home away from the North Pole in our newest exhibit. Share your Christmas wish with the jolly old man, and take a photo to commemorate the occasion. Keepsake family photos are available for a donation to the Volunteer Advisory Board. Galleria Dallas has a special online service to make reservations at exactly the time you’d like. Then, guests will be prompted for children’s names and an idea or two about what they might want for Christmas so that Santa is prepared for the perfect interaction. Galleria Dallas is the only center in the state using this technology to personalize the Santa experience. Galleria Dallas has minimized the impact of crowds by creating specially managed and curated experiences. When families arrive at Santa’s magical village, they’ll have their own elf – a special helper who will guide guests through the experience.

Trains at Northpark

The Trains at NorthPark returns! Benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas and once again presented by Bank of Texas, The Trains at NorthPark welcomes more than 70,000 visitors to Dallas’ favorite shopping destination each season to revel in the magical display and show their support for the House.
With 1,600-foot of tracks, The Trains at NorthPark features glittering and intricately detailed cityscapes like Dallas, New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco set among other highlights like New England’s fall foliage, the Grand Canyon, and Route 66. All throughout are beloved holiday characters and hidden scenes.
The largest miniature train exhibit in Texas will debut in a brand-new space to showcase the more than 700 railcars featuring the corporations, organizations, families, and individuals who make the seasonal attraction possible. Since its launch in 1987, The Trains has helped raise more than $13 million for RMHD, and has a bigger-than-ever fundraising goal this year to help the House serve an additional 50 percent more families annually.

Holiday in the National Parks
November 21, 2019 – January 5, 2020 @ George W. Bush Presidential Center
The Holiday in the National Parks special exhibit will be adorned with traditional and elegant decorations that decorated the White House in 2007, such as mixed greenery, gold ribbons, poinsettias, and white flowers, reflecting our nation’s breathtaking landscapes and historical sites. Models of the Alamo, Frederic Douglass House, Mount Rushmore, Spanish missions, and more are incorporated into the exhibit, as well as behind-the-scenes photos of Mrs. Bush’s 31 visits to and 45 events in support of the National Parks. Don’t miss the replica of the official White House Blue Room Christmas tree, which will be covered in gold stars, gold beaded garland, and 347 gold ball ornaments – each hand painted by a National Park artisan to reflect park treasures from sea to shining sea.

Watters Creek Celebration of Lights – Allen, TX
November 22, 2019 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Join Watters Creek for a magical evening to kick off the holiday season and welcome Santa. Starting at 4:30, KISS FM, the evening’s emcee, will help everyone get into the holiday spirit. Mrs. Claus will be passing out free cookies, and there will be complimentary carriage rides, hot cocoa, caroling, face painting, and balloon artists.
The evening’s entertainment includes a performance at 5 p.m. by the Allen Philharmonic Symphony Carolers. They will perform seasonal favorites to keep the “ho-ho-ho” in holidays.
At 6:30 p.m. guests will be dazzled when Santa lights up the 30-foot tree, the centerpiece of Watters Creek’s holiday décor. The 30-foot tree leads a 145,000 glittering light display that includes 20 other trees and Santa’s sleigh with reindeer. The lights are synchronized to holiday music and play every 30 minutes from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Monday – Saturday through New Year’s Eve.

What could be more charming than a cozy horse-drawn carriage ride on a crisp winter evening? Bring the family or that someone special for a horse-drawn carriage ride around Watters Creek. Dallas’ SNOWDAY
November 22, 2019 – January 4, 2020 @ The Plaza at Preston Center
SNOWDAY is an immersive experience inspired by the spirit of Christmas and the joy of the holiday season. Guests will navigate their way through an imaginative wonderland of festive photo ops, enchanted rooms, interactive spaces, and nostalgic moments. There will be photo booths integrated throughout the exhibit and a possible encounters with Santa or one of his elves. Guest can then instantly share their photos from multiple kiosks and enjoy several printing options once they have entered the gift shop at the end of the exhibit.
General Admission tickets are $30; children under the age of 3 are admitted free and every $1 per ticket will go to the Children’s Medical Center. Check-ins are every 10 minutes, 10am-8pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am-10pm Thursday to Saturday, and 12am – 8pm Sundays. Christmas at the Star

This event gives fans an opportunity to enjoy free, family-friendly events throughout the holiday season including the Christmas Spectacular presented by Albertsons and Tom Thumb and the opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus.
The Christmas Spectacular begins with the lighting of The Star’s 67-foot Christmas tree, lit with digital LED lights, located on Tostitos Championship Plaza, and leads into a holiday performance showcasing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Rookie Squad, Dallas Cowboys Drumline, mascot Rowdy, Santa, and special Dallas Cowboys guest appearances.

DeGolyer House “Christkindlmarket Treasures”

In the historic DeGolyer House elegantly decorated for the holidays, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden debuts “Christkindlmarket Treasures,” a collection from Sustainers of the Junior League of Dallas members and Mary Templeton from November 23 to December 31. Displayed together for the first time, the Dallas Arboretum showcases more than 500 nativities, angels and nutcrackers, wooden Santas and Christmas trees. Each room in this historic home showcases a collection of treasures typically found in European Christmas markets.
Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show

With 75 larger-than-life colorful puppets made to emulate Eric Carle’s beautiful collages, the entire stage becomes a storybook to remember. Alongside the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the performance contains three additional childhood

Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Christmas Village Inspired by European Christmas Markets

Inspired by the European Christmas Markets, or Christkindlmarket, The Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Christmas Village is comprised of charming shops and façades that represent a quaint European hamlet. Measuring 16 to 19 feet tall, each house is themed and large enough so that several children and adults can enter at a time and experience that particular business. The interior walls of each house feature illustrations and embellishments appropriate for the kind of shop it represents. For example, the bakery murals show baked goods on shelves and the counter, and the music shop features paintings of shelves filled with instruments.

North Pole Express

Experience the magic of Christmas aboard Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s North Pole Express®, presented by Great Wolf Lodge. Lowest Greenville businesses will come together to provide special drinks and snacks, and many will also be selling unique holiday ornaments. At 7 p.m., the tree lighting will take place, so find a spot nearby and join the chorus of oohs and ahhs.
Plenty of fun will be had, but the event is for a great cause. This year, Light Up Lowest Greenville is partnering with Reverse Food Truck, an organization that collects food with the goal of putting hunger in the rearview mirror. To support the effort, you can donate some of their most needed items, including: canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter, vegetable oil, spaghetti, elbow pasta, canned whole kernel corn, kidney beans, pork and beans, pasta sauce, canned fruit, chicken noodle soup, ramen noodles and canned green beans. All attendees are encouraged to bring what they can to ensure that those less fortunate can enjoy some hot meals during the holiday season.

Light Up the Highlands

Kick off the holiday season with this family-friendly festival that will take place at the Lake Highlands Town Center, located on Wildcat Way at the intersection of Walnut Hill and Skillman.
The event is free to the public and will include our Christmas Tree lighting, entertainment from pop ensemble Espree of Lake Highlands High School, as well as LH Dance Academy and the Highlandettes. Newly unveiled exhibits (presented in English and Spanish) include a 1,400-square-foot ChallENGe Lab (where visitors can engage in 20-minute themed engineering challenges involving lunar craft “egg drop” moon landings and more); 23-foot “Amazing Airways” wind-tunnels that will wow children (and the young at heart); hands-on robot and circuit stations; and a massive music coding sequencer that activates a melodic LED display as guests create songs.
