This time of year gets a bit crazy for everybody. Deadlines seem to be appearing out of no where, travel is constant and the holidays make my crazy – in a good kind of way. With all the craziness happening, I make it a point to have a little bit of fun.
Work hard, play hard, right?
Attending musicals are one of my favorite things to do in Dallas. Not only do I love watching the production but I love supporting all things Dallas. When I saw ELF was coming to Dallas Summer Musicals, I knew instantly that I would do anything to see it.
Elf is one of those movies that I freak out over and that doesn’t happen often. I’m not a huge movie person but I can quote Elf forward and backwards all day, everyday. I attended a Sunday matinee at to see the production of ELF and although it wasn’t the exact story from the movie, I still loved every minute.
If you’re unaware of the story – ELF is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and his step-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
ELF is a fun event for your whole family and the perfect Christmas outing. ELF is playing at Music Hall in Fair Park until December 20th, so grab your tickets today. Tickets range from $20 – $104, so no matter what your budget there is a seat for you. ELF the Musical is a great reminder to find your inner ELF and enjoy the holiday season. So many times, we get wrapped up in buying presents, our current situation and keeping up with the Joneses during the holiday season when we should just be living in the moment. ELF is a great reminder to have fun this holiday season and let loose.
While you’re there, be sure to ELF yourself and have a little fun!
