It’s Game Time at Main Event!

Blog· Entertainment

Bowling, billiards, video games, laser tag …Oh my! Main Event is an entertainment paradise for those that just love to play.  Whether you like to bowl or you are more of a gamer, this place does not disappoint!

It was Father’s day and we took Dad (my husband) out to play.  What better place than Main Event?  We bought the Summer Fun pass that included all you can play bowling, billiards, laser tag, karaoke and more.  A full day of indoor fun.  Why not take advantage of it!

We purchased our bowling shoes and headed to our lane.  This is not your average bowling alley – black lights, lasers and music bring this age-old sport to a new level!   We began our game and were soon greeted by a server offering us a drink.  A full bar menu is available to quench your thirst with wine, beer, margaritas and specialty drinks.  A variety of smoothies and unlimited fountain drinks ($2.95) are also available for purchase.   The menu from the kitchen will delight just about everyone’s taste buds.  Pizzas, salads, wraps and “shareables” fill the extensive bowling alley menu.  We had the stacked quesadilla was just enough to keep our energy up for more games and it was delicious!

Next up, video games! This was not included in the price, but my husband is a bit of a gamer and would not miss this.    Being the (uh-uh) older one of the crowd, the traditional games in the video game area attracted my attention.  Air Hockey, ski-ball and traditional pin ball dragged me back to my teen years and enticed my competitive spirit immediately!   Then I ventured on to ride a virtual roller coaster with my six-year old and competed in saloon gun fight with my teen ager.  My husband got lost in Star Wars (literally a game you close the door and disappear) as he walked out all he said was “awesome”.  I have no idea what went on in there but he thoroughly enjoyed it!

Laser tag was on the bucket list for my husband and teenage daughter.  After 30 minutes they both emerged from the dark room sweaty and debating their scores. Both felt they had competed to the highest level and had an enthralling experience. All I know is they are still talking about it and it will be the first thing they do upon our return to Main Event.

After Laser Tag we played billiards as a family and ordered some more food.   It was inspiring to watch the girls learn the game that I played so often with my Dad growing up.  Father’s Day is a day to have fun, but doesn’t everyday deserve a little fun?  I think so!  So, when we are looking for fun, games and family time Main Event will be top on our list.
