Healthy Eating for kids in Dallas

Blog· Entertainment· Food and Drinks· Suburbs

Taking your kids out for a healthy lunch or dinner can often be a testing time. Getting a child to sit still and finish their food without causing trouble can test the patience of even the most relaxed of parents. Fortunately for parents living in Dallas, there are a number of great places to take your kids out for an enjoyable, healthy meal.

Below, we take a look at three healthy eating options that your kids will enjoy. Taking three fairly different restaurants, whether your child enjoys the arcades and game playing, watching their meal being created right in front of them or an immersive rainforest experience, there is a healthy eating option for every child.

  1.  Dave and Buster’s

Dave and Buster’s follow  a model that has proved incredibly popular among younger kids. Combining a great eatery with the fun of a large arcade, which boasts an incredibly diverse range of games, Dave and Buster’s has been serving great food and entertaining children and their parents since 80’s.

Located on Composite Drive in Dallas, the establishment offers a wide variety of food, with the menu regularly changing, and operates a great ticket reward system that the kids can use to exchange for prizes.

While not all the food is aimed at those looking for a healthy meal, they have more than enough healthy food options to make it a viable option for health-conscious eaters. It’s best to plan for an early dinner, as the restaurant becomes a popular hangout for those on the local singles scene later at night

2.    Fuji Steak House and Sushi Bar

Though this restaurant may not be what you traditionally conceive of as a kids’ restaurant, they are more than welcoming to families who wish to have lunch or take an early dinner. The kids will be kept entranced by the antics of the hibachi chefs, whose knife wielding skills cannot fail to impress.

When the family all sit down together at one of the many teppan grills, everyone gets to see their food being prepared and cooked right in front of them. The artistry involved in the preparation will have the kids wolfing down vegetables like there is no tomorrow.

There are plenty of healthy options available and if you can get your kids hooked on sushi at a young age you will be starting a healthy habit that will last a lifetime.

  1. Rainforest Café

The Rainforest kids may just be one of the top kids attractions in Dallas. With a complete jungle theme, including animatronics animals, complete rainforest décor and pretend thunderstorms happening periodically, the restaurant is built around keeping kids entertained for as long their visit.

The Rainforest Café specializes in taking care of families and their children. Coloring books and crayons are provided; the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. Booster seats or high chairs are readily available and the menu is orientated around enabling children to enjoy healthy eating. Overall, this is a restaurant that your kids will love and parents will appreciate.

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
