Healthy Snacks for Back to School

Blog

The past few months have been hard on a lot of people with so many changes. I know having a toddler at home since March and having a baby in April has thrown us for a loop at our house. It hasn’t necessarily been bad, just different as we’ve all been thrown into the unknown.

We’ve made a lot of changes in our household and one of them is eating at home more often. Eating in has been fairly easy but finding healthy snacks and foods to keep in our house that accommodates every body has been a bit trickier until recent.

Here’s a quick breakdown of who lives in our household and our difference needs – we have a toddler who seems to constantly snack, my husband who works out daily and loves to graze all day and me. I’m breastfeeding so I need something nutritious to keep my calories and nutrition up through the day.

Ideally we wanted something that we could have that wouldn’t require a lot of prep and that we could just grab and go. Our 3 year old toddler is becoming more independent by the day so we are encouraging him to be able to get himself food throughout the day.  I’ve tried a lot of different foods throughout our quarantine but ended up loving the LALA® Yogurt Smoothies.

Smoothies are a great snack to keep you going through the day. I love that LALA® Yogurt Smoothies are made with real fruit. You can always tell the difference in quality when real fruit isn’t present in smoothies. They are also made with active yogurt cultures and probiotics which are crucial to gut health.  It’s been a nice way to change things up.

With Mother’s Day Out opening back up, I’m looking forward to incorporating these smoothies into Bryce’s daily routine. We aren’t big breakfast eaters but being able to grab a LALA® Yogurt Smoothies on the way to school will be a game changer. I buy the 7 oz packs which are perfect for lunches and afternoon snacks after school.  If you pack school lunches every day, you know how much of a task this can be! I’m all for anything that will make them easier while providing great nutrition for my little one.

You can find them in your refrigerated section of your grocery store. Look for their blue packaging with fun zig zag lines. If you’re an HEB Shopper, don’t miss the ValPak coupon for $2.50 off your favorite LALA® Yogurt Smoothies. Check the LALA® Yogurt Smoothies official webpage to find out where you can purchase their products.

What healthy snacks are you incorporating into your daily routine?

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

Order directly from their site your from your favorite delivery service!
I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
