I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf Influence Central for Sprint. I received sample devices to facilitate this review.
A few weeks ago, a handful of us Dallas bloggers were invited to the Mockingbird Station Sprint store for lunch. We met the staff and toured the store and over lunch, Mary from HTC introduced us to the HTC One M8 smart phone.
The HTC One M8 is a beauty. I have been using an Android phone for the last few years, and definitely am impressed with what this phone has to offer. If you are in the market for a new smart phone, definitely check out the HTC One. Here are a few features that I love and I am sure you will too:
Screen Size
The first thing that caught my eye was the screen. It’s 5 inches which is absolutely perfect, not too big and definitely not too small. I’m on my phone all day, every day so I need a phone screen that is large and easy to read but the phones with the mega screens aren’t my style. It’s almost as bad as people taking pictures with their iPad, there are just some things that you don’t do.
It’s made of metal, which makes it feel substantial – this phone doesn’t feel like something cheap made out of plastic! If you’re one to drop your phone or break your phone often, the metal casing adds extra protection to your phone. It might get a scratch here or there but at least it won’t break! The body of the HTC M8 has a Wrap-around unibody frame curved to fit your hand which makes talking on the phone much more enjoyable.
Sound
The HTC One has front facing speakers making everything sound crystal clear. No muffled sounds when on speaker phone with the HTC One! I received the HTC One Harman/Kardon edition and the ear phones are unbelievable! Now I know why people rave about Harman/Kardon. There are built in amps. Boost volume to impressive levels, maximizing the HTC One’s massive .85cc top speaker chamber and .80cc bottom speaker chamber size. HTC’s proprietary membrane excursion direct control optimizes volume and bass that makes your music thump.
Camera
There are 2 cameras on the back of the phone and another on the front of the phone. The HTC One has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera which shoots a great shot. The 2 back cameras create awesome images. This phone has the ability to create 3D photos, you can also re-focus your images after you shoot them! More pixels don’t mean better photos – larger pixels do. The HTC One (M8) features UltraPixels twice the average size to capture over 300% more light.
Speed
I am using the M8 on the Sprint Spark network and it is FAST. If you’re looking to switch companies, check out their framily plan. It’s a great price and the speed is great. Also, if you already have a Sprint phone, you can service for under $60/month with no contract! You can’t beat it.
Thanks HTC and Sprint for the awesome phone. If you’re thinking about switching this holiday season, now is the time to do it!
