First and foremost, I want to thank everybody who voted for me to be the Official Blogger of the NCAA Football National Championship Game and another BIG Thank you to Frisco Convention & Visitor Bureau (FCVB) for hosting the contest. I’m beyond excited to be apart of the game and to keep you up to date with everything going on.
For the third time in the 35-year history of the NCAA Football Division I championship, the same two teams are facing off in consecutive championship games! This year’s teams will be a repeat of last year as North Dakota State University (the defending champs) and Sam Houston State University face off at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
On January 5th, the two teams will meet and battle for the championship title. Will you be there?
The gates open at 10:30am, be one of the first 2000 fans to enter the stadium and receive a FCS Championship scarf courtesy of the NCAA Respect Campaign.
If you plan on driving to the stadium, arrive early. Parking is on a first-come, first served basis. Parking lots will open at 8 a.m. on game day. Parking passes may be purchased for $10 each on game day. My suggestion is to skip driving to the stadium. Free fan transportation will be ready beginning at 8am and will run approximately every 30 minutes until game time. Return transportation to hotels will begin at 2pm and continue until 5:30pm. Shuttles will be available at the following locations:
- Route 1 – Westin, Sheraton, Wingate: Westin guests pick-up at circle drive in front of Conference Center. Sheraton and Wingate guests pick-up in front of respective hotel.
- Route 2 – Embassy, Hilton Garden Inn, Home 2, Inn at Stonebriar: Embassy & Hilton Garden Inn guests pick-up on North side of Westin Hotel Conference Center. Home 2 and Inn at Stonebriar guests pick-up in front of respective hotel.
- Route 3 – Homewood, Aloft, Hampton, Holiday Inn Express: Homewood, Aloft & Hampton will pick-up in front of Homewood Suites. Holiday Inn Express will pick up in front of Hotel.
For more info about the free transportation, visit the information tables located in the lobby of Embassy Suites and Westin Stonebriar, or ask the front desk of your hotel. Whether your driving or taking the free transportation, bring a cooler and some drinks to tailgate in the parking lot with your friends before the game or head over to Tailgate Town. If you’re visiting from out of town, head over to the Frisco Convention & Visitor Bureau‘s site for restaurant info, hotels and things to do in Frisco during your stay.
Once it’s ready for game time, which side will you be on? Sam Houston State will be the home team and have reign over the west sideline at FC Dallas stadium, while the east side will be North Dakota Bison territory. North Dakota State (13-1) holds a better record for the year than Sam Houston State (11-3) and they won the Championship Game last year but the big question is… Who will win the 2013 NCAA Football Championship Game?
