This Valentine’s Day, Dallas-Fort Worth area Papa Murphy’s will ‘show the love’ for their community by turning the HeartBaker Pizza into a fundraising tool for the North Texas Food Bank. Forty area Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N Bake Pizza locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex will participate. For each HeartBaker Pizza sold between February 6-14, one dollar will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank. Each dollar donated through the sale of a HeartBaker Pizza feeds three North Texas people in need.
The HeartBaker Pizza is a long-loved seasonal pizza in the shape of a heart offered by Papa Murphy’s during and around Valentine’s Day. The effort kicks off a larger Papa Murphy’s “From the Heart” campaign which aims to feed 50,000 North Texas families in 2013.
“At Papa Murphy’s, it’s our mission to provide busy families with the opportunity to gather together at dinnertime to enjoy the food they love with the people they love,” said local Papa Murphy’s franchisee and DFW Co-op President Brian Watson. “With this focus on feeding families, it only seems natural to partner with a great cause like the North Texas Food Bank. And with each $1 donation feeding three people, by picking up a HeartBaker Pizza this Valentine’s Day, you’ll do much more than feed your own family. You’ll feed a family in need as well.”
“After the holiday season when giving is top-of-mind for many people, we often see a decline in support,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “With this campaign, Papa Murphy’s is giving local families an easy and fun way to help tackle the issue of hunger. Every pizza sold means three meals provided to hungry North Texans.”
