Friday nights equal date night. I usually cook every night of the week, so Friday is the perfect excuse to wind down from the long week and eat out. It’s a time that my fiance and I can not only relax but have alone time. One of our favorite things to eat on our date nights is sushi. It’s a lite meal that doesn’t make you feel loaded down so we eat it often.
P.F. Chang’s recently introduced from new items to their menu and guess what some of the items are? SUSHI! We were so excited that we went last Friday and tried a variety of their new sushi dishes and small plates (and of course, their a specialty cocktail or two).
There was a small wait to eat in the dining area so I snagged a seat at the bar. I was so hungry and ready to eat so I grabbed the first seat available. The bartender had her hands full keeping up with the bar and all the tables but she did a great job paying attention to us while multitasking. To start off our meal, she surprised us with seasoned cucumbers. It was exactly what I needed to hold me over to our food came out.
You know when you’re starving, you can’t decide what to eat so you order lots of food? That’s pretty much what we did. Not only was it a great way to try out their new menu items, it definitely filled me up. We started with the spicy tuna roll. It’s one of Quinn’s favorites. I let him critique the roll since he eats that same types of rolls everywhere we go. He said they were “perfect” and “just right.” I ate just as much as him and he was correct, they were delicious.
Shrimp Tempura is one of my go-to dishes at Japanese restaurants, so when I saw their shrimp tempura hand roll I knew I had to get one. The shrimp tempura roll is a sesame-soy wrap, hand-rolled with crisp tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber and Japanese rice. It’s a large roll so don’t be fooled by the name. We shared one between the two of us (mainly because we had ordered so much food). The hand roll was a nice alternative to eating regular sushi. Let’s be real, who doesn’t like eating food with their hands?
Quinn’s favorite part of our meal was the Jicama Pork Tacos. The Lemongrass seared pork was topped with a refreshing tropical pepper slaw served in jicama “shells.” The different flavors blended perfectly together. Order more than one plate of these tacos, because you aren’t going to want to share!
Date night was a success. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and my delicious beverage. If you’re wanting to try something different, order their Long Island Rum Tea. It’s not your usual long island, this one is made with Cruzan Mango, Guava and Aged Light Rums with fresh sour mix and a splash of cranberry with pink cherries. It’s the perfect refresher from this summer heat.
If you’re not hungry enough for a full meal, stop by for happy hour from 3-7pm. It’s simple to remember: ‘3 to 7’ means 3 to 7 pm with prices from $3 to $7. Guests can add a little fizz to the day during the new, extended P.F. Chang’s happy hour, with specials served from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Monday through Friday. Guests seated in the bar and patio can order small plates, sushi and appetizers ranging from $3.00 to $7.00. Beer, wine and specialty cocktails are available for the same price range. You can’t beat this deal!
Let me know what you think of P.F. Chang’s new menu items!

Yum! PF Changs is so good. I love their new menu items!
PF Changs used to be our favorite date night spot. We no longer have one close enough but I crave their Mongolian Beef
I don’t have a PF Chang’s super close to me, so I haven’t been, but I have been wanting to try it for a while now!
I love restaurants that offer small plates. It means I can taste a few things, not be broke or stuffed to death!
Looks like a great meal! I wish there was a location near me.
My Daughter and Granddaughter just took my Hubs and I to PF Changs in Atlantic City for Fathers Day last month. We always go there every time we are in AC
The Pork Tacos sound delish. Wish there was one near us.
All of that looks SO yummy! I finally made it there for my first time this past mothers day and everything we had was SO yummy! I can’t wait to go again!

I have not tried sushi. Glad you get to have a date night. Girl needs a break!!
I have actually never been to a P.F. Chang’s! All the different food you got looks so delicious, though!
I wish we had a PF Chang’s here. We do get their freezer meals, but I suspect they aren’t as tasty as the real deal.
Sushi at P.F. Chang’s? I’ll have to check that out. I love that place.
Sounds great! We do not have this over in the UK so I have never been able to try anything from them before.

There is a PF Changs about an hour from our house. I was thinking it might be a good place to take hubby for his upcoming 50th birthday!
I haven’t been to PF Changs in forever. That was the last date night we had before my husband passed away 10 years ago. This post just brought back some great memories
Yum! That all sounds and looks delicious. I will have to give those tacos a try!
This is going to sound crazy, but I have never been to a PF Changs. I do love sushi. I will have to see if there is one around me.
