Why is the 2024 Solar Eclipse such a special event?
During the 2024 eclipse, the Sun will be in or near solar maximum, when the magnetic field is more like a tangled hairball. Streamers will likely be visible throughout the corona. In addition to that, viewers will have a better chance to see prominences – which appear as bright, pink curls or loops coming off the Sun.
What is the Solar Eclipse in 2024?
Depending on how they align, eclipses provide a unique, exciting view of either the Sun or the Moon. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, casting a shadow on Earth that either fully or partially blocks the Sun’s light in some areas.
Will I be able to see other planets during the Solar Eclipse?
Will it be completly dark during the Solar Eclipse?
Those in the path of totality, a 115-mile-wide stretch where the moon will fully cover the sun, are set to experience as much as four minutes of total darkness.
What time will I experience the Solar Eclipse?
Depending on your location, the solar eclipse time will vary. I highly recommend visiting the NASA website and viewing the location you will be able to see the exact time. Dallas, Texas partial starts at 12:23pm and ends 3:02pm. We’re supposed to begin totality at 1:40pm, hit the maximum totality at 1:42pm, and end totality at 1:44pm.
