The mint julep has been associated with the Kentucky Derby for as long as I can remember. It’s a staple drink at all Derby events. Today Kentucky Derby serves more than 80,000 juleps over the two-day event. This year instead of drinking a Mint Julep, give The Equestrian a try. Invented by the bar at Central 214, this drink is a fan favorite. It’s simple and easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 5 fresh mint leaves
- 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
- 3/4 oz local honey
- 2 barspoons water
Directions:
- Shake, strain and serve over ice!
The recipe is so easy, you have no reason not to give it a try. If you don’t want to make it yourself, head over to Central 214 to see how the masters make it!
