Twin Peaks, the Dallas-based mountain-lodge themed sports restaurant, recently opened its seventh D-FW area restaurant at 1500 Marketplace Blvd. in Irving and I stopped in to see some changes they are making to this male-driven restaurant.
I’ll admit it, Twin Peaks isn’t my go-to restaurant and it rarely crosses my mind when thinking about dining BUT their target market obviously isn’t girls in their mid 20’s. I’ve never disliked Twin Peaks but over the years, I’ve learned it’s not nearly as bad as many would think. Yea, there are girls that are half dressed walking around, it’s not the end of the world. If you’re looking for a place to watch the game or catch any good fight on TV, Twin Peaks is the place to go. There are more TVs than I could count and the place fills up and brings a great energy during all sporting events.
Twin Peaks opened a new locating in the Las Colinas/Irving area off of 635 so I stopped in to see what this location was all about. This location is the first of many that have a new look and feel to it. Their new model location is extremely open and spacious. It’s home to the first prototype of a Twin Peaks “ice-house,” which shows off the bar’s 32 kegs. The main lodge has a 360-degree circular bar, a 360-degree fireplace, 38 high-definition televisions and multiple video games. The circular bar allows many customers to be served at one time rather than having to wait for a drink.
Well known in Dallas for its comfort food menu, Twin Peaks offers hearty American favorites like slow-roasted Ribeye Pot Roast and house-breaded Chicken-Fried Steak alongside original items like the tempting Hangover Burger and BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. To wash it down, guests enjoy an extensive variety of 29-degree draft beers served from a full-service bar with 32 tap-handles. I tried the blackened chicken tacos which were delicious. There were 2 tacos which were enormous. There was no way to finish them. My boyfriend had the hangover burger, which was a cheese burger smothered with a fried egg. Yes, it was divine. Both the tacos and burger are highly recommended.
