Mesquite Arena to Host THE BIGGEST OF THE BAD Monster Trucks; Feb. 1-2

Race fans in the North Texas area are in for a treat Feb. 1st  & 2nd . Mesquite  Arena will host a monster truck event, bringing a popular motorsport to Mesquite and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. THE BIGGEST OF THE BAD from Checkered Flag Productions features monster trucks with a line-up that is not to be missed, including the WORLD FAMOUS BIGFOOT, the King of the Monster Trucks. The Friday and Saturday night events each begin at 7:30 p.m., with gates open at 6 p.m. and a VIP Pit Party at 6:30 p.m., getting spectators up close and personal with their favorite drivers.

As elusive as Sasquatch, BIGFOOT has not been seen very often in the DFW area in the past 20 years. Introduced in 1979, BIGFOOT is widely regarded as the first monster truck.  BIGFOOT’s owner began building the truck in 1975, using his family’s 1974 Ford F-250 four-wheel-drive pick-up truck. In 1981, BIGFOOT’s owner shot a video of his truck crushing some junk cars in a farmer’s field.  Soon after, BIGFOOT began making appearances all over the country, crushing cars and a new sport was born. By 1984, the sport had gone nationwide, and is still strong today as interest in BIGFOOT is at an all-time high.

Team Bigfoot President Bob Trent says, “We are excited to bring our truck to such a historic event and we have instructed our driver Larry Swim to win at all costs!   It is time that the Dallas area had a chance to see BIGFOOT again and we are ready for the challenge!”

Nothing goes better with Monster Trucks than authentic Texas barbeque, which is offered at the 8-Second Club at Resistol Arena and on the general arena floor. From smoked brisket and chicken to rodeo beans, corn soufflé to potato salad, rolls to cobbler, everything for a real taste of Texas can be found at Mesquite Arena.

Tickets for the most affordable professional sports event are on sale now at all Ticket Master outlets, including Mesquite’s Mesquite Arena box office, or you can order tickets online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone by calling 1-800-745-3000.  Tickets are also available at the gate. Ticket’s start at $14 for end zone seating for adults and kids. Mid-Level seating is $32 with kids tickets half-price and VIP tickets are $62 with kids tickets half-price.

Dubbed “The Rodeo Capital of Texas” by the Texas Legislature, the World Famous Mesquite Arena is located in Mesquite, Texas, just 15 minutes from downtown Dallas in the climate-controlled Mesquite Arena at 1818 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
