When we were first planning our Oklahoma City weekend trip, we toyed with the idea of going to an escape room. I had heard about them before but wasn’t sure what I thought. If you haven’t heard of escape rooms before, they are taking the country by storm. An escape room is a physical adventure game where you are you put into a locked room. You must search throughout the room to find hints but the crazy part is putting all of the hints together to master a puzzle. 
My husband and I love adventures and play games constantly so we knew we would have a good time. We honestly didn’t know what we were walking into when we got to The Escape OKC. 
The Escape OKC® is a new, simple, and fun live escape game, designed for small groups of 2-7 people. You get 60 minutes to climb a mountain of puzzles and mysteries in a room. The goal is simple yet challenging: get out in time! Else … you could be trapped inside forever! During this engaging and challenging game team members truly live and breathe in union for an hour.
Before entering the room, we couldn’t decide whether we would benefit or be at a loss that there were only two of us. Did more people mean that we would have more people thinking differently which could ultimately help us solve the puzzle? On the other hand, if there were a lot of people working on the same puzzle, would it be stressful if we weren’t all on the same page?
Upon entering the room, we weren’t given much info other than the plot line. Once we were locked in the room, a TV turned on and we got a short update and then a timer instantly turned on with 60:00 minutes counting down with dramatic music. Before you know it, we were both scavenging throughout the room trying to find a clue or anything that would help us try to make sense of what we were doing. Thankfully, within minutes we found some clues that got our brains working.
