Bean and Cheese Tostadas Made with Bush’s Savory Beans

Blog· Food and Drinks

This post was sponsored by BUSH’S® Savory Beans as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Every Sunday, I sit down with my favorite meal planner and open up pinterest to scroll through millions of recipes. For over a year now, I’ve been really good about meal planning. It has helped not only save us money but also helped save me from so many headaches when trying to figure out what to cook every day. Since my husband and I both work at home, we’re usually eating all three meals at home so I try my best to stay organized so we’re not scratching our at meal time when deciding what to eat.

When I’m trying to figure out meals, I always ask my husband if there is any meals that he wants during the week or if he has any special request. I honestly don’t even know why I ask him anymore because he gives me the same response every single week, “be sure to get some Bush’s beans.” It’s almost become a joke and I’ve started asking just to see if he will ever give me a different response. If you’re curious, he doesn’t – it’s always the same thing weekly.

All you have to do it open up a can and pour the beans into a pan and you’re ready to go. When you have a toddler that doesn’t understand that it takes time for food to cook, being able to open up a can of beans and serve it to him is a blessing. I know you mommas know what I’m talking about!

I buy a few cans a week, Bush’s offers a variety of beans so I switch them up often. BUSH’S® Savory Beans are made from the best beans simmered in delicious savory sauces, which come in three flavors. – Black Beans Fiesta, Southwestern Style Pinto Beans, and Southern Style White Beans.

I start my grocery list with three things every week before even I start to meal plan – water, Dr. Pepper, and Bush’s Beans. He’s passed his love for beans down to our toddler and it’s now one of the only consistent items that I know he will eat. It makes me happy that he loves Bush’s beans so much because it’s such an easy side dish. They’re a great way to enhance any dish easily. I love that I’m able to just heat and serve without any extra work.

I often heat and serve them as a side but also like to incorporate them into recipes. They have so much flavor that they are the perfect ingredient to enhance my favorite recipes. One of our lunchtime favorites is beans and cheese tostadas made with Bush’s Black Beans Fiesta. It’s such a simple recipe that can be modified with your favorite ingredients. If you have kids old enough, these are perfect for them to build their own by placing whatever topics they desire.

I always keep ingredients handy for these tostadas because they’re a family favorite. I love not having to add a lot on top because of the flavors from the beans. Next time you’re shopping at Walmart, be sure to grab a couple cans. You won’t be disappointed.

Send me your favorite quick and easy recipes so I can give them a try.
