Since I’ve been blogging for a handful of years, I’ve had the opportunity to attend a lot of different blog conferences all over the country. In October, I had the chance to attend my very first Type A Con with Best Buy in Atlanta at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead. The weekend flew by but I had an amazing time.
Instead of spending a lot of time in the conference sessions, I found myself glued to the Best Buy chef table. Throughout the weekend, they had 3 amazing chefs stop in their suite and teach us some cooking techniques while using small appliances and the LG Studio Kitchen.
Virginia Willis started the weekend off by blowing my mind. She taught me so many cooking tips that I seriously should have known. Virginia recently published a book called “Lighten Up, Yall” which is all about cooking down home Southern food without the fat. By doing simple things like replacing half the butter in a recipe with canola oil or adding veggies to a meal, she lost over 20 pounds. Simple fixes without even knowing!
The next chef that came to the Best Buy Suite was Chef Kevin Rathbun. Many Dallas residents will know his brother Kent Rathbun who owns many restaurants throughout the Dallas metroplex. Kevin Rathbun was amazing. I loved his energy and raw personality. You never knew what he was going to say and I can’t get out of my head him saying “Burnt shit is good.” He made everybody in the room smile! Not to mention he cooked us some amazing Fennel Roasted Pork Loin in the LG Stove that was to die for. After I arrived back to Dallas, it was the first thing I made when I got home! (Recipe will be on the blog soon!)
Last but not least, Kevin Gillespie stopped by to teach us about cooking with ingredients that we already have in our refrigerator! He made a delicious, drool-worthy meatball dish with homemade barbecue sauce. Someone please tell me why I haven’t been making my own barbecue sauce? It was so simple! Each chef had their own style of cooking but they all stressed the same thing – how amazing the LG Studio Line is. LG partnered with Nate Berkus to design this line so you the aesthetics and performance are top notch. Every LG Studio appliance is crafted from the highest-quality, premium materials and meticulously designed to incorporate thoughtful, innovative features for a kitchen that’s distinctly your own.
When viewing the LG Line at the Best Buy Suite, I loved that I could imagine each appliance it all sorts of kitchens no matter what type of decor or style the house is. It had a timeless look, one that would look good anywhere.
Here’s a glimpse into what Nate Berkus thinks about “marrying high function with high design” on the LG Studio Line:
