Dallas Cowboys Tailgate Party with Verizon Wireless #GoVerizon

Blog· Entertainment

There’s a few things we love to do in Texas. One is to tailgate and the other is to watch Football. Those two go hand and hand so anytime we get a chance to party with a bunch of other football lovers, we take advantage of it! I got the chance to party at the Bill Bates Tailgate Party with Verizon this past weekend before the Dallas Cowboys whooped some New Orleans booty.

Verizon is a sponsor of the NFL and they throw tailgating parties that you don’t want to miss before each game. This party was at the Fish Bone Grill across the street from the Stadium. At first, I thought the party was just going to be inside the bar with a few games and drinks. Boy was I wrong!

20140928_184046Behind Fish Bone Grill was a huge tent set up for the tail gate party. Tickets cost $50 each, but that included food, Miller Lite and margaritas not to mention a DJ and fun football games to play.

Outside the tent, there were lots of fun games and interactions to keep you busy. Verizon had a couple that I loved. One was a inflatable set up so you can kick field goals. You had three chances to score and if you did, you would win prizes. It was hilarious watching people try to kick the football.

I caught a Cowboys fan attempting to kick a field goal. Unfortunately, he failed but it was all in good fun!

We were able to snag a seat near the DJ booth and dance floor of the tailgate. It was a great place to people watch. The DJ had Saint’s fans and Cowboys fans compete in hula hoop contest and dance offs. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed many laughs.

Before we left the tailgate party, we had a chance to take a picture and get a signature with Bill Bates!  He was so nice and personable. Here is my sister, Digital Mom Blog, and I with him!

After interacting with all the awesome Verizon games, having a few drinks and stuffing our bellies, we were off to the game. I felt like I was at an away game, the amount of New Orlean’s fans seem to overbear the few Cowboys fans I saw walking to the game.

Dallas Cowboys stadiumThat was until I got into the stadium, then I knew we were in Cowboys Nation! We had amazing seats provided by Verizon. They were in the 200 section on the end field. We were seated directly in front of the party pass holders, which is standing room only. At first, it was extremely annoying. It was ALL Saint’s fans and they sat there yelling at us, telling us the Cowboys suck, that we need to sit down, etc. All the crap talk stopped shortly after the Dallas Cowboys took the lead only 7 minutes into the game.

20140928_212232There wasn’t too many more words out of the Saint’s fans after we started kicking some butt. While I was trying to take pictures of the field, one Saint’s fan stood up and starting scratching his head in disbelief. It was quite comical.

20140928_214444 I got a quick shot of a couple of the upset Saint’s fans that were standing behind me at the game. You can see that they aren’t too happy.

Cowboys played an amazing game and I’m so glad that we were able to attend! A huge thanks to Verizon Wireless for making it happen. Who wants to come tailgate with us at the next home game?

I am not a football fan, but sometimes tailgate parties sound fun anyway! I definitely always want to eat the food.

That tailgate looks like fun! I’ve been tailgating before but it hasn’t been anything extravagant. I definitely want to go to one that has a tent and games!

This looks like so much fun. I’ve never been into watching football, but I”m guessing it’s at a whole different level when you’re actually there with the energy. 🙂 I’ll have to try it at least once!

I have never been tailgating or to a NFL game. I’ve been to one game (the one that is lower than the NFL) sorry – not much into football so I clearly have no idea what I’m trying to say. Anyway, it was fun even if i didn’t know the rules of the game or who was playing haha.

This looks like a a lot of fun! I’ve been to a couple of games where you’re next to the standing room only. That can get old really fast but I’m glad they got quiet after their team started losing 😀
