There is one event that my husband and I make sure we attend year after year – the DFW Auto Show. Not only are we always looking at new cars because our needs are changing every year but it’s a fun event to see cars that will be debuting throughout the year and talk to car representatives in a no pressure environment.
Whether we are in the market to buy a car or we are just looking, the DFW Auto Show is the perfect place to see it all. No matter what your budget, you can find a car at the Auto Show that will fit your needs. Every year we venture to the Dallas Convention Center to check out the cars and learn about all of the new features and technology offered. Even though we go year after year, we are always amazed at what is being offered by the many different car companies.
This year, our priorities have changed a bit. We welcomed our first child into the world a couple of weeks ago so we are starting reevaluate our car situation. We currently own a sedan and a SUV. Although it’s only been a few weeks since having our child, we’ve been considering buying new vehicles to better fit our needs and growing family.
We really liked the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Coincidentally, it is also the Official CUV of the NFL which instantly caught my husband’s eye. If the NFL supports it, then you know it’s a good thing. We’re huge supporters of the NFL, even our child’s room is Dallas Cowboys themed!
The first thing that I noticed about the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is the price point only starting at $25,350 which is jaw dropping. The last time we went car shopping, we could barely find any cars that started under $35,000.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is loaded with all sorts of features from automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.
Automatic emergency braking is perfect for when the driver does not react if a crash is imminent. This feature applies full brake-force stopping power from 5 to 50 mph. It is literally a lifesaver whether it be protecting you from a crash or saving a pedestrian who might not be paying attention to oncoming cars.
Whether you want to admit it or not, we’ve all been in a situation when we’ve drifted into another lane on accident. The lane departure warning feature gives you a audible and visual cue that you may be drifting. It’s a great nudge to get you back on track.
It’s not possible to be able to see all areas around your car which is why blind spot detection is needed in all cars. This audible and visual alert lets you know when there is a vehicle in your blind spot. When you are reversing, the car will alert you of any oncoming cars approaching from either side. I can’t tell you how many times this feature has saved me!
Whether you’re in the market for a new car or just want to look around, the DFW Auto Show is the place to be. If you missed the show this year, catch it next year for a weekend full of test drives, auto trends and the hottest vehicles there is to offer.
