Attend Kaboom Town in Addison on July 3rd!

Blog· Entertainment

Kaboom Town is scheduled and ready to knock your socks off with their nationally recognized firework show. In the past there has been over 400,000 visitors and 1,500 pounds of fireworks which makes it the largest firework display in the Dallas area.

Schedule of Events:

5:00 pm: Enjoy food, games and music by The Dallas Wind Symphony. Take in to account that there will be LOTS of people at Kaboom Town so don’t take your precious time getting here. Expect traffic and planning ahead is critical. Why not get to the Addison early and relax with a drink (or two).

7:00 pm: The airport will clear its aerial stage at 7 p.m., and the two-act air show begins at 7:15 p.m.  Act I will also feature Jan Collmer, a Dallas-based air show pilot who flies an Extra 300-L, and Mike “Spanky” Gallaway, who cut his aerobatic teeth as a member of the 2004 and 2006 US National Advanced Aerobatic Team. An aerial armada from the Cavanaugh Flight Museum will conclude Act I.

Act II is a night airshow that features Matt Younkin and the Beech 18 and Dan Buchanan, a paraplegic hang glider pilot who completed his 1,240th air show performance in 2011. The pyrotechnics attached to their respective aircraft will prepare spectators for the KaBoom Town! spectacle that follows the air show and begins at 9:30 p.m. (source)

9:30pm: Let the fireworks begin! The fireworks can be seen from just about anywhere in Addison. Many hotels and restaurants are hosting watching parties. Kaboom Town is known for having the best fireworks in Dallas. Bold statement, but needless to say, the show is unbelievable.

After Fireworks: One of Dallas’ favorite bands, Emerald City, will be taking the stage and rocking the night away.

This event is completely FREE. To avoid traffic, plan ahead and get there early. This will also insure you a great spot to watch the fireworks. If you don’t want to worry with trying to get through the traffic and crowds of people, opt to stop by a local restaurant with a patio and watch from there. No matter where you view the fireworks show from, it will be a great show!
