When King George comes to town, you do everything you can to get tickets. I missed pre-sale, then by the time ticket sales opened up – they were all sold out. I knew it was going to happen, I just didn’t realize how FAST they would go. George Strait has always been on the top of my list of favorite artists. There is just something about him that is so amazing. I was bummed that I didn’t get tickets. I searched all over the internet trying to find tickets that were being sold at a decent price (ha). I ended up coming to the realization that it wasn’t going to happen.
A few days before the show, I received the best. email. ever.
I was being rewarded with a Suite ticket to the George Strait concert for being a Verizon Wireless customer. Yes, you read that correctly. My mouth dropped as I was reading the email because it was too good to be true. To make things even better, my sister got the same invite for being a Verizon customer so that meant not only did I get a suite ticket to see the King, but my sister was going too!
Uber was generous to give us a ride to the Stadium (but failed to pick us up). We were told a head of time that traffic might be a little crazy, since there was a Rangers game that night too so we planned accordingly. We got there right around 5pm and it only took about 10 minutes to get into the Stadium which I thought was incredible. The stadium was packed. I have never seen so many people at one place in my entire life. We quickly made our way up to the suite to avoid any of the madness.
Our view was amazing. I snapped a quick picture of the stadium before the concert started and you can see how packed it was. It got even more crazy once the show started. Did you see that this particular concert broke all types of records for the number of people in attendance? There were 104,793 people who attended King George’s final concert in Dallas.
At most concerts, there is an opening act or two that plays for a bit then they main artist comes out to play the rest of the show. George Strait made us all very happy when he was one of the first performers out and he stayed on the stage the whole entire night. The star filled line up included:
- Jason Aldean
- Kenny Chesney
- Eric Church
- Sheryl Crow
- Ronnie Dunn
- Vince Gill
- Faith Hill
- Alan Jackson
- Miranda Lambert
- Martina McBride
- Lee Ann Womack
I tried my best to get some clear photos from the suite. Here are a few of my favorites.
Once each performer came out and sang a few songs with George Strait, the show ended with every single artist on stage singing some of George Strait’s classic songs, such as “All my exes live in Texas.”
To say I’m lucky would be an understatement. I wanted to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Verizon Wireless for giving me the time of my life. This was a concert I will never forget. If you’re a Verizon Wireless customer, be sure to check out VerizonTexas.com for events and fun happenings they have for their customer!
I failed to mention that Verizon had an awesome photo booth set up for us to capture pictures throughout the night.
