New year, new you? Personally, I hate that saying. I love the idea behind it but I’m still the same me. I definitely have plans to better myself and make changes in life but I’ll be the same person just better. One major change that I’m making is all about food. I have never been one to diet but I want to change the way I eat. I love food and while I workout regularly, I want to make sure the food I’m putting in my body is what my body needs. I’m a big fan of chips and salsa, while I won’t be giving up all my favorites, I will be thinking twice about how I can fuel my body for the better.

My husband and I both work from home so one of the biggest changes I’m making is eating from home more often. Not only is eating out so expensive but I don’t know exactly what I’m putting in my body when I’m constantly eating out. Even though we both work from home, we’re on the go often. Bryce is in many classes throughout the week, both my husband and I go to the gym almost daily and that doesn’t include regular errands. While we are out, it’s so easy for us just to grab something quick. Not only is it convenient but that means we have more time to work or relax at home rather than cooking or making a meal.

Meal planning has been the one reason we have been able to make the change to eating at home. Every Sunday, I sit down with my meal planner and write down all of our meals and make sure I get everything we need at the store. This makes it easy when lunch time or dinner time rolls around. This prevents us from asking “what’s for dinner?” every single night.

Quick and easy meal options are always my choice, but when we think “healthy” we tend to think that it will be more time consuming as well. Healthy Choice has two new lines of Power Bowls – Morning, as well as Vegan and Vegetarian – that have made my meal planning so easy. These bowls have unique dishes full of gourmet flavors and fresh tasting ingredients, for freshness you can see and taste.

You can find them in the freezer section and breakfast frozen section at most grocers (find which stores have them here). Each ingredient matters in Healthy Choice Power Bowls. All of their bowls have a base mixture of whole grains like red quinoa and whole grain barley, leafy greens like kale, chard and spinach, and proteins. It is by far the easiest way to eat a quick, nutritious meal.

Power Bowls also come in a wide variety of options. They have Morning Bowls with amazing breakfast options like the Turkey Sausage & Egg White Scramble. This bowl is just what you need to start your day off right. Not only does it have amazing flavor, but it also provides the protein and nutrients you need to give you lasting energy throughout your morning.

They also have vegetarian options like the Mango Edamame Bowl. Take on the day with some bright, bold, totally vegetarian flavor. Red wine vinaigrette is drizzled on crisp edamame, sweet mango, dried cherries and sunflower seeds for a distinct and delicious taste. All of this is served on a base of whole grains and assorted vegetables for a healthy, nutrient-dense meal.

No matter what you’re looking for whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, Healthy Choice Power Bowls are the perfect meal. They offer other dishes such as Adobo Chicken, Italian Chicken Sausage & Peppers, and Korean-Inspired Beef, there’s a flavor for everyone! Want to give them a try? Click here to try them now!

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
