Instant Pot Spicy Honey Chicken in 5 Minutes

Blog· Food and Drinks

Yall, the more I use my Instant Pot, the more obsessed I become. I was using it once every couple weeks then it turned in to weekly, now I’m using it multiple times a week and I can’t get enough. It seems that everything we make in there is so good. Since I cook dinner Sunday through Thursday, I’m always looking for new meals and the Instant Pot has given me so many new options for all of our meals.

Most of the meals I make are spicy so when I find a recipe that has a bit of a kick, I’m all over it. I’ve been making honey chicken in the Instant Pot since I got it, even though it was delicious the recipe needed more flavor. After some experimenting with the ingredients I finally found the perfect combination. This is usually in our weekly rotation of meals because it is bursting with flavor and I love that it only takes 5 minutes in the Instant Pot. It doesn’t get much better than a meal that is quick and delicious.

Instant Pot Spicy Honey Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1-2 lbs  chicken breasts, cut into small bite size pieces
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • .5 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • green onions chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Ingredients

  1. Cut thawed chicken into small bite sized pieces.
  2. Place all chicken into the Instant Pot
  3. Mix together all ingredients except the cornstarch.
  4. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
  5. Close the lid and steam valve.
  6. Set the Instant Pot to manual, pressure, high 5 minutes.
  7. Once complete, do a quick release and open lid.
  8. Mix about 1 tablespoon siracha and 1 tablespoon water with the cornstarch. If you don’t want as much spice, just mix cornstarch with water only.
  9. Turn Instant Pot off then Set Instant Pot to saute, normal and let bubble for a few minutes.
  10. Stir mixture until it thickens.
  11. Serve spicy honey chicken over rice.

If you want more vegetables with you meal, I serve a side of sauteed spinach and they go great together. This meal is one of our favorites and I’m sure it will become one or your favorites too! Let me know how you like it.

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
