Since I got married almost 2 years ago, my husband and I have been forming our own traditions. We lived together before we got married so we had a few traditions already started but once we got married, our traditions began to grow and grow. It’s amazing how fast you get used to doing the same routine over and over without even realizing it.
My husband and I both work from home so we are lucky enough to spend most the day together and see each other more often than most couples. Every night I cook dinner and we eat together. It’s very informal, we sit in front of the TV and usually eat from the couch. Although we both work from home and see each other most of the day, we don’t really get to sit down and talk. The days fly by so dinner time is when we are able to actually talk about the day, whats going on at work and all the other fun stuff.
Since I cook every weeknight, we usually set Friday and Saturday for our time to go out to eat. Then we start our weekly tradition back on Sunday. Almost every Sunday we chow down on pizza. It’s something we’ve done since we first started dating.
I’ve declared Sunday as pizza day and you should too. The beauty of eating pizza at home on Sunday nights is that it is so easy. No one has to worry about cooking a big luxurious meal. No one has to clean up one million dirty dishes. No one has to even think about what to cook because we already know.
We always grab a Red Baron’s Pizza at the store while we do our Sunday grocery shopping. They have so many different varieties from thin crust to classic crust with every imaginable topping!
This little tradition of ours is so simple and it makes my life easier and I’m all for it! These little traditions we have define who we are. No matter if it’s watching a movie together every night or eating pizza on Sundays. It’s a tradition that I don’t ever want to change.
What traditions do you have with your spouse and family?
