The air was electric as guests walked into the Frontiers Flight Museum Saturday evening, April 12th. Guests and dinner hosts were greeted at the door like celebrities. The Frontiers Flight Museum was the host for Aids Services of Dallas (ASD) and local restaurants, caterers, shops, and chefs.
The theme for this year’s No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party was “La Dolce Vita”. I attended the after party where there were an assortment of delicious goodies and delectable sugary treats. I braced myself for the high caloric intake but told myself to treat this as if I were at a wine tasting. Of course, my eyes were bigger than my sweet craving and sat down and take a breather. The Key Lime Pie from Hillstone was definitely at the top of my list.
It was a good thing I took a moment to soak in all of the energy and excitement in the air. Bidders were eagerly waiting for the Auction to begin. Lots of merchandise was on display. Some items were more colorful than others. The largest item up for auction was a shiny new Ferrari.
Volunteers and guests smiled, shared large hugs, and hand shakes. After all, they were all here to raise funds for those Dallas residents who are living with HIV/AIDS. The Aids Services of Dallas (ASD) organization provides housing and supportive services for these individuals.
