Bolsa Review by The Burbanist

Blog· Food and Drinks· Reviews

I think it’s pretty clear from my blog that I’m saving my bills to move to Kessler Park.

Did Bolsa on Friday night and enjoyed the hell out of it. The food was solid and worth a drive, and the drinks are WHERE IT’S AT. I asked for the spicy Whiskey Fizz and my stomach hasn’t burned that much since Pitmaster Will made ‘special’ habanero stuffed jalapenos for our group at Lockhart Smokehouse last week.

More effective than Colyte.
Don’t worry, I got this.

Incredibly good & spicy Whiskey Fizz with habeñero and passionfruit. Bolsa.
Dispatched some ginger tout de suite.
Ginger Mint Gimlet.
You could make a trip just for the bruschetta tasting and cocktails.
Outstanding bruschetta.

Tender redfish.

White Chocolate Rum Tile.

This restaurant is in an old, converted garage and is heavy on atmosphere. The outdoor patio is decked out with light-wrapped trees with a few bar stools and many tables.  The outdoor and indoor bar areas get full fast so overflow is outside in the parking lot. It’s actually quite nice since there are chairs available.

The restaurant specializes in local, naturally raised and organic food which is, you know, pretty flagrant.  I thought parking would be a nightmare since there is no valet (Quit judging. I don’t look to be on the business end of a 187), but we found a space at the old Gloria’s across the street.  Our group of eight SHUT THAT JOINT DOWN as we were the last ones out at fifteen past 11. I know restaurants love that shit.
And sorry I don’t have any of my usual, awesome pictures of atmospherics, but I try to look like a douche only once a night and I had already tripped over one of the cement blocks in the parking lot.
No reservations and will only seat complete parties.

Thanks, Keith. It’s always hopping & definitely worth the drive even if you aren’t in Kessler. Takes me a cool hour to get there with construction – but worth it. Check out my recent post on Bolsa’s Oswald Corridor. Cheers, brother!

Switching the attic fan on for a few hours a day can help to eliminate the problem.

On-line you will discover numerous various choices in a single useful resource.

Police say Wednesday night’s fight had at least 10 people involved.
