Since I moved my office to my house earlier this year, I have noticed my activity level has drastically decreased. I don’t have to do much to get to my office anymore. I use to wake up run around the house to get dressed, drive 20 miles to my job, walk to my building, walk around my building throughout the day, walk to my car and head home. Now my day consists of rolling out of bed and walking across my house to sit in front of a computer all day. It’s kind of embarrassing, but it is what it is.
I never truly knew how much exercise I wasn’t getting, until recently. I was given a Misfit Shine that tracked my every move (and even my lack of sleep). I’ve been wearing it around a couple weeks now and I’ve learned that I seriously need to start moving my body.
The Misfit Shine tracks your daily activity and steps. The Misfit Shine showed me that my busiest days was Sundays. On Sundays, I know I’m very active compared to other days. I usually try by best to stay away from the computer and work on house projects. I clean the house, finish all the laundry, run around the back yard with my dog and try to relax my mind with fun activities. I enjoyed watching a pattern of my activity level over the past few weeks.
It also has an option to track other activities such as swimming, biking, tennis and sleep. I opted to track my sleep. My sleep schedule it crazy and I was curious really how much sleep was I was getting each night. I try my best to get a good amount of sleep each night but I’m a night owl and I’m the most creative in the middle of the night so sometimes sleep doesn’t happen.
As you can see, maybe I’m not at my healthiest since I don’t get much activity or sleep. The silver lining in it all is that now I know. I know what I need to do, what days I need to start moving more and thankful that I have my Misfit to track it all.
